Babu Brish Bhan Dav Pub School
Babu Brish Bhan, former Chief Minister of erstwhile PEPSU State, was born on 9 September 1906 at Moonak, Punjab, India. He was the founder President of All India State People Conference (Punjab Branch) from 1938 to 1956. Having matriculated from a school at Hissar, he graduated from F.C. College, Lahore in 1930. He took his degree from Law College Lahore in 1932. He started his legal practice in Sunam which became a cradle for his Prajamandal Movement for oppressed tenants and against the landlords and princely orders. Throughout his career, as a lawyer, he never accepted bribe on behalf of the landlords, against the oppressed tillers of the soil. He was an enlightened and dynamic leader of the people who was imprisoned a number of times. According to a country astrologer who said in prophetic strain, "This boy will either be 'Wazir’ or ‘Faqir’. He was a Minister in PEPSU in 1951. Mr. Brish Bhan became the Chief Minister of PEPSU in January, 1955. He became the minister in the Punjab in November, 1956 after the merger of PEPSU in Punjab. He again became the Minister of Punjab in 1962 and then in 1967.
