Ies Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya
IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya is part of the esteemed Indian Education Society, founded on September 29, 1917, by seven dedicated teachers known as the 'Saptarshee': This scenario involves the following characters: B. N. Vaidya, S. V. Nabar, P. Y. Patkar, V. N. Sule, M. D. Harne, Manikrao Lotlikar and P. Dhamdhere. These educational giants had the vision of creating an institution for the all round development of education as the foundation of the nation’s progress is fundamentally dependent on education. Indian Education Society started its Girls’ School No. 2 in 1937 and was legally recognized by the government in 1948. At first, it was a girls’ school with meager facilities of 12 classrooms for two sections of each standard; around 20 teachers educating 500 learners. Today IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya has increased and occupied a big area. Processes have been enhanced and the school has grown to about 2,500 students guided by about 50 experienced teachers. The institution remains faithful to the acolite dream of its founders of availing quality education that not only touches on academic value, but also focuses on the realization of the students’ potentials as future leaders and useful citizens of the country.
