His contribution in the field of social service made him a renowned figure of the region. In 1959, he received much deserved recognition in the form of 'Gold Medal' from the 'Government of Jammu & Kashmir' as recognition of being a successful industrialist. This mission, as a legacy was passed on to his illustrious son, Sh. Hira Lal Abrol. He set up an institution in 2004 thereby bringing Samba on the educational map of Jammu region. This was possible because of his unflinching faith in the power of education, enshrined in the shloka "Tamso Ma Jyotir Gamay" that empowered him to venture out for such a noble cause. Today, MV International School boasts of creating a dynamic platform for global education that would foster, character building and nourish scientific temperament of students.
