St Joseph’s School started in 1955 by the founder principal the Late Miss Bertha Pereira though started as a primary school to provide quality education paying much attention on individual attention to its learners. Realizing the need to take this into the secondary level, the school grew bigger in June, 1982 to incorporate a secondary department manned by a few staff members and only 45 students enrolled. Since then, it has expanded under the leadership of St. Dominic Education Trust and emerged to be one of the most respectable educational institutions. The school nurtures all round development of students through provision of activities such us games, music, creative art, aerobics, speaking and drama, and trips respectively. Realizing the limitation of teacher centered instructional strategies, St. Joseph’s incorporate the use of Teaching aid, Closed circuit television and E-Boards in the classroom. This technology introduces the concepts of animated lessons which makes learning more interesting and an intercom system for the purpose of passing messages.
