Christopher Day School
The journey of Christopher Day School started small, instigated by the necessity of education in Nimpura as a whole. The school was begun on 21st January 1977 by Mr. D’Souza and under the patronization of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta and started with Fr. Gilbert Pinto as the principal and with the help of his many teachers in the school. Teacher-in-charge from 1978 to 1983 was Ms. Elsy Menon, while the school being managed by Rev. Fr. Joachim until 1983. The most notable event came in February 1983 by the arrival of Servite Sisters which marked a new phase of Christopher Day School. The school was granted permanent NOC by West Bengal Government on January 03, 2002 on it’s silver jubilee year. In 2004, the first batch of students who were studying in Class X sat for their ICSE examinations affiliated to the Sacred Heart School. It further substantiates the mission of Christopher Day School in imparting quality education under the supervision of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta to foster the glowing future.
