Oak Grove School
Oak Grove School is a unique institution born from the convergence of three 19th-century marvels: Such options include the Indian Railways, hill stations, and the culture associated with public schools. It dates back to the 1870s with the development of the SP&D Railway, which is now the North Western Railway, that created the first Railway hill school at a Bungalow called the Fairlawn which is in the vicinity of the present-day Oak Grove site. This was one of the properties of the ‘Rajahs Palace,’ which belonged to the Royal family of Nepal, and whose remnants have been preserved for residential use to the present day. The official foundation of Oak Grove School was established in the year 1888 by East India Railway Company under an endowment of Rs.2 lac as suggested by the School Committee. He summarized that during the nineteenth century, business organizations and concerns that were mostly profit-oriented were not into social responsibilities such as promoting education which was rightfully and rightfully expected from religious and charitable organizations. Thus it was particularly laudable that the East India Railway Company started Oak Grove School in the eighties for education and social concerns.
