Ramnivas Ruia Junior College is affiliated to Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College, which was set up in June 1937 under the banner of Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, Pune. It was the initial venture in Mumbai in private education of girls and finally the institution started officially early December 1937 by H.E.Sir, Roger Lumley – the Governor of Bombay. This is as a result of the ten plus two education system which birthed the Junior College and financially backed by the House of Ruia. It offered courses in Arts and Science, special bifocal courses are Electronics and Computer Science. The college has fully equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and IT laboratories Besides, very well equipped sports facilities. This college is also famous for being a highly academic college with strict discipline among the students. Teachers pay particular attention to the development of the childs thinking skills and provide powerful stimuli for efforts in classroom and extra-curricular activities. Another co-curricular activity is student associations where there are facets for the Arts Association to perform and for the Science Association to focus on research and scientific investigation.
