Tibetan Homes School




Tibetan Homes School for the intellectually challenged and under privileged children under the aegis of the Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF) realises semi orphans or destitute Tibetan refugee children. Formed in 1963 and recognised under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, THF is situated in the peacefulness of Mussoorie’s valley. It is this institution established by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama to provide childcare, education and necessary conditions to learn the Tibetan language and cultural vision. Based on principles like this, called Mother, Brothers and Sisters, The House and The Village, founded in Somalia and Sudan, THF follows the norm of the SOS Children’s Village. This helps in ensuring an appropriate environment within which the children can interact, feel free and even retain their cultural values. The tranquil environment and personalised health care approach shall ensure that the students are nurtured to responsible and cultured citizens.
